6/6/11 Jobs Report

There isn’t much in the way of good news on the job front today.

The Washington Post reports that “behind the hard numbers in Friday’s dismal report on the job market are scared small-business owners, slashed state budgets, dried-up federal stimulus funds and a lingering uncertainty that has taken hold from corporate boardrooms to factory floors around the country.”

Chevrolet will add around 2,500 new jobs in Detroit.

Detroit Tool and Metal Products is expanding and will be adding over a hundred new jobs.

North Carolina

Project Tree is considering an expansion that would add over forty jobs.

Caterpillar will be hiring hundreds of new employees.
