According to McKinsey, “America needs to create 21m new jobs to keep up with population growth… but that will only happen if the economic trends of the last decade are reversed.”  More:

Bloomberg is reporting that” profits at American companies are poised to be one of the few bright spots in the U.S., helping to steady the faltering recovery.”  More:

Newsweek brings these two comments together nicely:  “It’s a cliche — but true — that a huge obstacle to a stronger economic recovery is the lack of confidence in a strong recovery. If consumers and businesses were more confident, they would be spending, hiring and lending more freely.” In short, along with all the other factors that plague our economy, America has a confidence problem.  More:
